Highwood Baldy (Cascade County)  - Status Current As Of 7/18/2008

Activities/Work Currently In Progress At This Site:

Air Force funded site. SI International is responsible for all contracting and project management.  Sub-Lease, Right of Entry for Construction, and Real Property transfer to the local agency has not been finished by the Air Force legal and is delaying contracting. Site walks by vendors as part of the bidding process by SI International (AF project) were completed (April 28-29, 2008) Estimated completion of the site can not be determined until legal process is completed.

Project Delay - Issue Currently Affecting This Site:

Air Force Sub-Lease, Bill of Sale, and Right of entry agreements have not been completed and have been forwarded to the Air Force Space Command level. This delay may mean the site will not be constructed this year.

Future IM Activities/Work Planned At This Site:

· Trunking (2010 or later)

· Microwave hop to Flying J (2009)

· Microwave hop to S. Moccasin (2009)

Future AIRFORCE Activities/Work Planned At This Site:

· Infrastructure (2009)

· 150 ft Tower

· Shelter with internal Generator

· Propane Tank

· Power line improvements to the site

· Fence

Previous Activities/Work Completed At This Site:

· Vendor site visits as part of AF procurement process

· Geo-Tec analysis for tower foundation

· Site visit by microwave engineer as part of microwave final design

· Fergus Electric engineering and contracting process with SI International for power line work.

· MDoT (Kevin Bruski) has completed the Forest Service site lease process. A lease has been approved.

· National Guard legal office has approved the airlift for the construction phase of the project
